Meet The Council

Scott has been on the town council since 2019 and was elected Mayor in April 2023. Scott is also an executive board member with Pathways to a Healthier You and he chairs the Behavioral Heath Committee. He is also a board member of the Safe Center in Duncan and a board member for the Association of South Central Oklahoma Governments. Scott and his wife Christy have four children, two of which attend Bray School. 

Alan has been on the town council for the past 25 years and in April of 2023 he was re-elected for another term. Alan and his wife Becky enjoy serving their community which also includes the Bray Community Food Pantry.

June has been on the town council for the past 20 years. June is retired from Bray School and she is an active volunteer with Bray Food Pantry.  She and her husband Bennie are in charge of the Bray Community Center event scheduling.

Sam Richardson has been on the town council since the town was originated in 1977. He held the title of Mayor from 1978 to 2023. He was also instrumental in the building of the Bray Community Center. He and his wife Wilma are very community oriented, in fact, Wilma was one of the founding volunteers of the Bray Food Panty. Sam continues to farm and he is still heavily involved in community organizations as well as being a Bray Councilman.

Sonya Cummings was appointed to the council as the clerk/treasurer on October 2, 2001. She is very dedicated to our community and she is an integral part of the Town of Bray.
